Advanced Automotive Structural Steel
GONMO offers an advanced range of automotive structural steels specifically designed to meet the stringent requirements of modern vehicle manufacturing, focusing on strength, formability, and safety. Their Advanced Automotive Structural Steel product line includes Bainite Dual Phase steels (grades FB450, FB590, FB780) and Martensite Dual Phase steels (grades DP600, DP780).
Bainite Dual Phase steels, such as FB450, FB590, and FB780, feature a bainitic-ferritic microstructure that provides a favorable combination of high strength, excellent hole expansion capability, and superior ductility. FB450, with yield strength above 300 MPa and tensile strength between 450-530 MPa, offers exceptional elongation (>24%) and a hole expansion rate (>80%), making it ideal for forming complex automotive structural components. FB590 and FB780 further enhance these characteristics with higher strength (tensile strength up to 780 MPa), suitable for safety-critical parts requiring greater crashworthiness, such as chassis reinforcements and suspension systems.
Martensite Dual Phase steels, including DP600 and DP780, possess a dual-phase microstructure predominantly consisting of martensite islands dispersed in a soft ferrite matrix, resulting in higher tensile strengths (DP600 ≥580 MPa, DP780 ≥780 MPa) and good elongation (≥14% for DP780). The key difference between Bainite and Martensite Dual Phase steels lies primarily in their microstructure; bainitic steels offer higher ductility and formability, while martensitic steels provide superior strength and impact resistance.
FB series (Bainite Dual Phase) steels are typically applied in automotive components such as suspension arms, control arms, and wheel rims due to their excellent formability and fatigue resistance. In contrast, DP series (Martensite Dual Phase) steels are extensively used in crash-relevant applications, including side-impact beams, bumper reinforcements, and structural reinforcements, where higher strength and energy absorption capability are critical. Through these advanced steel products, Gonmo significantly contributes to vehicle lightweighting, enhanced safety performance, and improved fuel efficiency.
