OUR PROCESS EQUIPMENT

CSP Line

The CSP production line at LY Steel is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and processes, making it one of the most advanced thin slab continuous casting and rolling lines in the industry. Product specifications include a thickness range of 0.8 – 12.7 mm, a width range of 900 – 1600 mm, an inner diameter of 762 mm, and a maximum coil weight of 29.6 tons. These products can be delivered in compliance with national standards, industrial standards, or technical agreements, as well as Japanese, American, or European norms, based on customer requirements.

2250 Hot Rolling Line

The new steelmaking and hot rolling system at LY Steel incorporates cutting-edge processes and technologies, including an advanced energy-saving regenerative reheating furnace with hot charging and delivery capabilities. The system achieves a maximum charging temperature exceeding 900°C. To enhance product properties and quality, the facility employs TMCP (Thermo-Mechanical Controlled Processing), high-precision rolling technology, and ultra-fast cooling after rolling, with the ultra-fast cooling technology being a pioneering initiative in China. Both the equipment and control technologies have reached an internationally advanced level. Products can be delivered in compliance with national standards, industrial standards, or technical agreements, as well as Japanese, American, or European standards, based on customer requirements.

1580 Hot Rolling Line

The 1580mm hot rolling line primarily produces NGO silicon steel, GO silicon steel, medium and high carbon steel, cold-rolled and deep-processed steel, as well as commercial hot-rolled steel. Product specifications include a thickness range of 1.2mm to 18mm and a width range of 850mm to 1500mm. To enhance product performance and quality, the line features advanced technologies such as automatic reheating, automatic side shielding for laminar cooling, automatic deviation correction, and state-of-the-art dedusting systems. The entire production line utilizes domestically developed equipment and technology, with the domestic main drive being applied for the first time on a wide-width hot rolling line. This marks a significant milestone in the advancement of high-end equipment within the domestic metallurgical industry.

Cross-cut Shearing Line

LY Steel operates three cross-cut shearing lines with an annual leveling capacity of 1.2 million tons. The production lines are equipped with advanced quality inspection systems, including automatic ultrasonic flaw detectors, flatness gauges, surface inspection devices, and automated spray printing and marking equipment. The main products include high-strength structural steel, high-strength engineering machinery steel, wear-resistant steel, saw blade steel, hull structural steel, automotive beam steel, structural steel, and acid- and corrosion-resistant steel. Product specifications range from a thickness of 2 – 25.4mm and a width of 900 – 2130mm. The maximum yield strength of the cut-to-length sheets reaches 1500MPa, with a dimensional accuracy of 0 – 5mm.

High Strength Temper Mill

The high-strength temper mill has an annual production capacity of 800,000 tons. It produces products with a thickness range of 1.2 – 12.7mm and a width range of 900 – 2130mm. The tempering capacity reaches up to 1000MPa, while the recoiling capacity goes up to 1500MPa. Products can be delivered in compliance with national standards, industrial standards, or technical agreements, as well as Japanese, American, or European standards, based on customer requirements.

Heat Treatment Line

LY Steel is the first manufacturer in China capable of performing heat treatment on hot-rolled coils after cross-cut shearing. It is now one of the world’s leading production bases for high-end medium and thin gauge heat-treated sheets. The facility supports a variety of heat treatment processes, including quenching, normalizing, tempering, quenching + tempering, and normalizing + tempering, with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million tons.

LY Steel operates 13 heat treatment production lines, comprising 19 heat treatment furnaces, 7 quenching machines, 9 levelers, 3 packaging lines, and 1 steel eco-descaling (SED) line. The plant produces high-end heat-treated products such as high-strength steel, wear-resistant steel, armor steel, ship plates, and pressure vessel steel, leveraging advanced rolling quenching technology and superior leveling capabilities. Products can achieve a maximum tensile strength of 2200MPa.

Product specifications include a thickness range of 2.0 – 25.4mm and a width range of 900 – 2130mm. Notably, LY Steel produces 2mm quenched sheets, the thinnest high-strength heat-treated product available globally.

Cold Rolling Line

LY Steel’s cold rolling mill incorporates advanced technologies and state-of-the-art equipment, achieving a total production capacity of 2.95 million tons. This includes 0.75 million tons of annealed and skin-passed products, 0.55 million tons of pickled products, 0.9 million tons of galvanized products, and the remainder as full hard coils.

Key equipment includes a laser welder, shallow slot turbulent pickling system, and a 5-stand UCM tandem mill, ensuring excellent gauge and profile control. The line has an annual capacity of 2.4 million tons, with product specifications of thickness ranging from 0.25 – 3.0mm and width from 870 – 1585mm.

Additional equipment includes full-hydrogen batch annealing furnaces, a 4-hi skin pass mill, and two recoiling lines. The full-hydrogen batch annealing furnaces offer high heat transfer efficiency, while the recoiling lines are equipped with imported surface inspection systems. This section has an annual capacity of 0.75 million tons, with product specifications of thickness ranging from 0.3 – 3.0mm and width from 820 – 1585mm.

Cold-rolled Silicon Steel Project

The cold-rolled silicon steel project focuses on the production of medium- and high-grade NGO silicon steel, special grades for electric vehicles, and high-permeability grain-oriented (GO) silicon steel. It positions LY Steel as a comprehensive supplier of high-end silicon steel products, catering to applications such as high-efficiency motors, electric vehicle drive motors, high-end household appliances, and various types of transformers.

The production line features state-of-the-art equipment with a high level of automation and intelligence, representing the leading technological standard in China. The rolling mill is equipped with a high-precision automatic control system for thickness and shape, ensuring exceptional product quality. Additionally, the annealing coating line utilizes ultra-thin band-pass plate technology and advanced, efficient surface cleaning technologies to guarantee superior coating quality.

PLTCM (Pickling and Tandem Cold Mill)

The Pickling and Tandem Cold Mill (PLTCM) at LY Steel integrates modern equipment, including a laser welder, shallow slot turbulent pickling system, and a 5-stand UCM tandem mill. This line is designed explicitly for precise gauge and profile control, ensuring consistent product quality. With an impressive annual capacity of 2.4 million tons, the PLTCM produces steel sheets ranging in thickness from 0.25 mm to 3.0 mm and widths from 870 mm up to 1585 mm.

Annealing and Skin-Passed Line

The Annealing and Skin-pass Line features advanced production technology, including a full-hydrogen batch annealing furnace, a 4-hi skin pass mill, and two recoiling lines equipped with imported surface inspection systems. This equipment provides superior heat transfer efficiency and ensures excellent surface quality control. The line has an annual production capacity of 0.75 million tons, manufacturing products with thicknesses between 0.3 mm and 3.0 mm and widths ranging from 820 mm to 1585 mm.

Galvanizing Line

LY Steel’s Galvanizing Line employs globally advanced technologies such as the UEC full-radiant vertical annealing furnace, imported FOEN air knife systems, and integrated zinc pot roller technology. Enhanced by intelligent control integration and pre-oxidization functions, this line guarantees exceptional quality, particularly suited for high-strength steel products. It has an annual capacity of 0.9 million tons, offering galvanized steel sheets in thicknesses from 0.3 mm to 2.5 mm and widths from 900 mm to 1580 mm.

Pickling Line

The Pickling Line at LY Steel is equipped with five sections of shallow slot turbulent hydrochloric acid pickling, four rinsing stages, and additional features including side trimming and oiling equipment. The automated control of acid concentration ensures uniform surface preparation and consistently high-quality products. With an annual production capacity of 0.55 million tons, this line produces steel coils with thicknesses ranging from 1.2 mm to 8.0 mm and widths between 850 mm and 1550 mm.

18-hi Single Stand Reversible Mill

The 18-hi Single Stand Reversible Mill incorporates an advanced automatic profile and gauge control system, providing high rigidity, significant rolling force, and exceptional thickness accuracy. This mill is ideally suited for precision applications requiring stringent dimensional controls. It has an annual capacity of 0.25 million tons, producing steel sheets ranging from 0.15 mm to 6.0 mm in thickness (with high-strength grades from 0.3 mm to 6.0 mm), and widths between 900 mm and 1300 mm.
